I was wondering why they only make diecast for the D2. I have a D4 and have been waiting for a diecast of the D4 for awhile I would like to see a diecast replica of the D4 2t series made.

We had D4's and one setup for a #40 scraper back around 1998-2000 you missed the boat.

The D4 pictured above is a Gilson Riecke built model that the club sold in the early 2000's. According to our agreement, we are allowed 2500 copies of a given model, but not neccesarily only 2500 D-4's or 22's etc. For instance, we have a series of D2's that are built with different attachements, thus each is considered a separate model. Some of Gilson's tractors were set up as a companion piece to another. The D4 came with a bulldozer blade, as a drawbar tractor and as a #40 scraper tractor. We try to maximize our investment in tooling by offering consecutive models built off the same tooling of the previous if we can. You most certainly can find Gilson's tractors on EBay and other auction sites. They are very detailed and as such have increased in value over the years. If I recall, I originally purchased mine somewhere in the price range of the $400s. They are now close to $1,000.00. http://www.proxibid.com/asp/LotDetail.asp?ahid=488&aid=21126&lid=5887757 Don't give up on getting one, it will happen.

with riecke building them years back cat won't go against its agreement with riecke. someone who should know told me about 10 years ago. riecke knew the best model to build in my opinion. guys on both sites been asking for affordable d4 models for years.

D6-9U's, D7-17A's, D8-2U's, DW21's, 631B's, and etc will all sell. But do understand that the Yellow Godfather has his hands in it, which is probaly a good deal! Just another addition to the conversation lip service.
If you look back a ways, Chapter 3, our Board member newly in charge of the Model Committee, asked for input about what models we should be making and which should come next. I am also a Board member and am on the Models and Merchandise Committee.

I don't know why Ag-Mike says it will never happen, rules is rules. We do have a limitation restricting us to only producing models of machines older than 40 years, and we have a limitation restricting us to 2,500 copies of any given model.

The models are an important source of income for the Club and we are interested in producing any models which we think will generate interest and sales of the 2,500 copies we are licensed to make.

I would encourage anyone with an interest to give me, Chapter 3 or any other Club communication channel input about your interest. It is very difficult to decide which models to make because there is a great deal of interest in a great variety of machines.

What is important to us is identify the consensus out there for a given machine and having confidence that we will move all of the units in as short a time as possible, covering the high cost of tooling, development and production of the units.

My personal interest is more oriented to the 1:1 world and tractors I can sit on without damaging them or my rear end, so I don't quite have the historical production statistics at the top of my mind, but Side-Seat is correct that we did produce the D4 7U and a matching #40 scraper a while ago, and I think we produced other versions of the D4, although I don't think we produced a D4 2T.

I think the picture you posted is of an example of our models. We no longer have any D4s or 40 scrapers in stock, but you may be able to find one on Ebay or at a toy show or website as many toy collectors purchase copies of our models.

If we were confident that a D4 2T would sell 2,500 units and do it quickly, you can count on the fact that it would be the next model we would build. I would encourage you to talk to those that you know and might be interested in a model and have them raise their voices and give us a vote.

We want the Club to be responsive to the desires of the members. The models are very difficult to manage because there are so many possibilities and, of course, everyone has their opinions and those they would like to see made first. We struggle to develop a consensus and make the model next that will be responsive to as many Club member's wishes as possible, but that will also support ongoing activities of the Club by being a financial success, too.

I hope you and others will continue to give us your guidance and feedback, as that is the only way we can make things happen.

Thanks for your support,

Pete.
I vote for D4 2T. Green or yellow. Preferably with La Plante/Choat straight bladeπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘:whoo::whoo::whoo:

I'm on the D42T line up as well. Add a D4N winch, that way I'll have at least one 2T with a winch.
