I spent the day plowing our field at the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum in Vista Ca. yesterday. We will be planting wheat very soon to harvest at our June show. The soil was a little wet but it was a great day on the D4 7U!I hope to disk it next week, then plant.

Looks wet alright. You guys are a tad late to be planting wheat for June harvest.
Did your protege C$$$ get the disc repaired yet?
Glad to see someone having some fun. Most others are plowing SNOW!

Angelo,

Hey, that looks like a D8 14A down there behind that orange wagon those guys are building. Nice looking tractor. 😊

JM- Plowing snow? Now do you have to disc that in also? Don't know about that stuff down here in San Diego.
Scheduled a room for Tulare this morning. See you then.

The wheat might be a bit late but we will have an October show also. C$$'s is busy with his Yoga classes so the Kilifer is on the back burner for now. The D8 in the background cost a friend of mine a bunch of money so we don't use it much.

That field looks like it turned over very well, the furrows are all fully over and uniform - makes it so much easier to disc too! Nothing beats getting some prolonged seat time on these old tractors, I don't know why but doing field work like that is just plain fun. Angelo, be sure to follow up with some discing pics too please!

Hello Sasquatch, you are correct about enjoying the "seat time". I was in the seat for about 7 hours on a beautiful 70 degree sunny day. The best part for me is that my D4 7U is the exact model and year of the one I drove in the 60's and early 70's when my father was farming tomatoes. It brings back good memories. I will post the discing pictures when I start that task.

Howdy Neil, the plow is a 3 bottom hydraulic Oliver and it works well. Nothing fancy , but it works.
