We are selling off some of my dad's estate and old farm equipment.

I remember, maybe in the mid 60's he got a duckfoot chisel (clearly not Cat) and a spring shank chisel (said to be Cat, but I don't know that) tool with one of the D2 he used to have. They had a bracket on the tool bar, and I believe the dozer arms were supposed to be cut loose from the blade, swung around to the rear, and pinned to the brackets to pull the tool bar mounted implements behind the cat.

I spent a lot of hours on those clutches, but we never used the D2 for any of these attachments, so we never tried to hook them together.

So, my questions:
1. Did Cat ever private lable any farm equipment or attachments? Woudl the spring chisel have been Cat labelled?

2. Are these indeed Cat brackets?

3. Do the brackets themselves have any value?

pic attched of brackets.

I will add the overall when I can get the next pics figured out.

I don't get here often, but will check posts and messages.

Thanks kevin j Minnesota

1. Did Cat ever private lable any farm equipment or attachments? Woudl the spring chisel have been Cat labelled?

I don't know what u mean labeled. They did fab some of their own tools for their tool-bar machines. Their coiled spring field cultivator coils were made by killifer owned by j-deere and old original ones would be 1" square. Without seeing the mounting hardware i can't confirm its manufacture. U don't picture any chisels but cat did make them, light duty and heavy duty ones. The gauge wheel pictured is cat and fabricated by cat.

2. Are these indeed Cat brackets?

Those are early cat d2 brackets using the 3/4" bolts, they went to 7/8 " bolts later on.

3. Do the brackets themselves have any value?

Everything pictured has very good value, and if u wanted to sell put what u have on ebay for your best buck. u will have a limited number of t-bar bidders depending where the stuff is and what the start price is.

post some better pics of the cultivator hardware and i'll be able to tell u what u have. good luck.

So, I am assuming the duckfoot was a home brew deal but that the yellow chisel was probably cat branded and sold that way.
The chisel wheels are not solid cast as they appear in the picture, but rims with steel plates welded in. I do remember an old DC case we farmed with that had solid 4 inch thick cast iron fornt wheels, but that is a bunny trail.

Nice to know the stories we had were sort of accurate.

It amazes me how much knowledge is in peoples head and on enthusiast boards. I guess I just don't see it as much on boards I am familiar with because the knowledge is 'common' to me on other topics.

thanks to all.

we also have a lot of D2 engine parts that I will post to the ads later.

"So, I am assuming the duckfoot was a home brew deal".
Yes but has cat brackets and 2 1/4" toolbar with it. Someone would probably buy it complete.

"but that the yellow chisel was probably cat branded and sold that way."
What ur calling "yellow chisel" is a cat field cultivator, coils and mounting hardware manufactured by killifer.

"The chisel wheels are not solid cast as they appear in the picture, but rims with steel plates welded in."
Those are cat depth gauge wheel setups, used with most of the cat toolbar tools.

Here is a close up of a cat field cultivator coil mounting bracket made by killifer for cat.
Please post in for sale ads when u decide to sell or ebay this stuff, I would be interested in all of it. good luck.
