I have a problem - my 8K has a lower roller that worked loose and has worn the bore out in the track frame. I know available from cat is the whole "boss" 8s8687 which is welded to the bottom of the track frame, but this is the whole strip for all 7 rollers and only one is bad. Is there a different option? On the 8H one could just fix the one that was bad, since it had individual mountings welded to the bottom of the track frame. Any suggestions or similar experiences? Thanks -
Many years ago had same problem with my D8K. I got a local welder to build up and machine with portable borer, it worked fine.
Thanks - I was hoping not to have to go the route of build up and boring, especially since the machine is in the bush. I may just cut out the section of the mounting boss with the bad bore, get one boss side from cat, cut two bores out, line up and weld in the bore pair. Either way it is a pain, but well worth it - great machine.
