D8K 1979 77V126xx

Good evening to a D8K pro. I still don't have my Dozer running!! Every time I do something I find something else wrong!!! The question tonight is , there's a cross brace just aft of the torque multiplier between the fenders. On it is a cross shaft and a bellcrank for the right brake. I always wondered why the tractor always wanted to turn right with no control inputs?? The right brake pedal was always lower than the left. I attempted to pull the cross shaft and bellcrank to see if I could lube the bearings? I took out the Little piece of steel and bolt that is supposed to hold the shaft and it wouldn't move??? It has worn the brackets that supports the shaft because it's turning with the bellcrank!!! In closer inspection I found a fastener in the middle of the bellcrank??? No need for the little piece of steel and bolt that is supposed to keep the shaft in place now??? Who knows who did this in the past?? However, it prevents the right brake pedal from moving as required. No telling what it has done to the linings from the past operations. The brake still functions, I hardly ever used either brake unless I needed to turn very sharply. I never got it out of speed one on my ranch in fwd or reverse. The fastener is level with the bellcrank on both sides of the tube! Huck bolt or huge rivit or something else?? Who would want to remove the cross brace just to work on the bellcrank?? No grease zerts on it, but will have a couple before I finish with the new hydraulic pumps. That is if I can drill out the stupid fastener in the middle and get the shaft out??? I've been in the parts books and this bellcrank and shaft are no longer available that I can find but you can still get the needle bearings!! Any help from Old magnet out there??? try florin tractor, or a wrecker like tillys crawler parts at toowoomba the freight might kill you though. also a wanted add on the forum never know who has what. besides shafts are pretty easy to make if you have one to copy or original drawings others have been able to get part blueprints for NLA parts via the dealer and have them made to spec.

Thanks for the return . The problem is the shaft is stuck in the bellcrank. I drilled out the two fasteners in the middle of the bell crank. That didn't help at all!! I will try and put some heat to it after I take out the cross brace between the fenders. The bellcrank is fine. Their is two welded pieces to the cross brace that hold the ends of the shaft, the shaft goes through the bell crank. I live in Oklahoma by the way. I don't want to destroy the cross brace or the bellcrank. Just get the shaft out of the bell crank. Thanks for the reply but it will do me no good to buy a bell crank and a cross brace and a shaft and get someone else's problems. This fiasco had to be A CAT THING AND SAFETY DEAL?? Or a mechanic with no mechanical aptitude. If I fail to get the shaft out I'll do something else. Thanks again, Mitch.
