Can anyone tell me the cylinder head torque specs fora 1973 D8. Just replaced front head gasket. Machine serial is 46a33087. Thanks for any help.

hello brianscathouse,i have the specs for heads on the 46a 12000? up ,i am sure if they changed for your serial number but i can post them if you want them ,bruce oz

OM and I posted the 1970's specs on your other thread yesterday.

Late D8H Head Torque
Hi Brian,
below are specs dated Feb 70.
The thread lubricant mentioned in the chart is critical to achieving correct stud stretch/clamping force, to help clamp the head firmly and prevent gasket etc. failures.

I assume that you don't have a field instalation that converted the counter bore block to a spacerplate one.Your serial number is rather high and I have seen high serial numbered H'S with the spacer plate block. Different torque specs are used for the later blocks.
