Hi Gang

So changing out the transmission pump after testing it and finding it's only pushing 75 psi to 100 at wot . Does anyone have a flow chart on the oil it pumps ? And priming the new pump procedure. Thanks in advance

What s/n?
Fill pump with oil before operating, can top off using test plug. Make sure you don't have air leaks in the suction piping. Does it have the suction piping upgrade?

You should cut 1/8th inch off the end of the pump shaft before installing .
This is cat recommended procedure.
If this is not done the new pump shaft rides on the unworn part of the inner spline . This puts end thrust on the pump shaft . The end thrust will destroy your new pump.

The pump only partial fixed the problem will try replacing the suction screen in trans . I also wonder if the return which was replaced with a smaller hose could pose a problem

You may find your new pump already stuffed if you did not shorten or bevel the shaft on the new pump, it doesn't take long at all to tear the face off the end when the gear is pushed hard against it.

The old pump internals where perfect. The only wear was the splines worn on the drive side other then the spline wear. I replaced the pump for no reason it appears .

I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
