The info I have shows the 8R series ending and the 2U series beginning in 1946.
So far as I know that is correct but you never know about some of these old stats 😊 😊

I wasn't sure I have always been told (from my old cat guy) that 2U's started coming out in 1948 but I don't have that much knowledge (books) to tell me. Thanks for correcting me, now I can take that back to the old guy and see if I can get his hair standing up.

Watch out the "old Cat guy" doesn't snag you on the other "U" models....The D2, D4, D6 "U" models came out in 1947.

Checked the 5F7487 number again and that's what is says...Form #30708 (1956)
Interesting that in the text at the bottom they do mention a 4F9889 piston ring group for the 2F3666 pistons (standard).

Looks like another typo🙄 🙄

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
