Hi folks in ACMOC,

I have an D8 8R1344 SP that still runs well. I am very curious about the 8R series. What proportion of the 10,000 8R tractors were sold to the military or US government and sent all over the world? How many stayed in the USA?

The clutch is feels strange to me. I can use my clutch on my D4 6U4680 when the tractor is turned off. But the clutch in the D8 cannot be engaged except when the engine is turning, and even then it doesn't hold well and slips despite my tightening the clutch. Any suggestions?

Best wishes, Will

Could be a lot of reasons for clutch symptoms.....mainly worn parts such as thermoid links, linkage, support bearings, clutch disc and engine to transmission alignment. What have you done in the way of investigation and/or repairs?
