I noticed the other day when I was changing the oil in the gear drive for the fuel injection pump it had diesel mixed in with it. Does anybody know if there is a seal that can be replaced or is this a tight clearance metal to metal machining issue? I know that finding any and all parts for this machine is going to be a problem. ser# d8-2u 12593
Thank you. Steve

The "normal" leakage from the inlection pumps should not accumulate in the oil of the pump housing. There should be a drip line from the housing that carries that leakage away. yhis may be crimped or plugged with dirt etc. These are sometimes T-ed into other drip lines at the front corner of the engine block. Not familiar with that engine as to how they are done.

Could also have a seal between pump housing and filter tower that is leaking. These frequently fill the engine oil pan with fuel though.
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

Thank you for the info, It leaked just enough to thin out the 30wt oil. That's how I noticed it. Thanks again, Steve
