Hi,

I have a friend that is trying to buy a 2u D8 for the engine possibly. He doesn't want the rest of the machine, but it has fairly good tracks on it. My parts book doesn't show the newer part numbers. The measurements on the dimensions seem to be fairly close considering the differences in wear. My Cat is an RD8 but it has had new sprockets welded on it. Does anyone know if they will all interchange or how to determine it?

Thanks in advance!

!H through to end 13A should all interchange, there will be some updates, however pitch and rail width etc will match.

That is great news! i would really like to get my RD8 movable again. Its one of the first 125 or so tractors built. Do you know what all would need to be updated?

Thanks again!

Nothing should need updating. Only possible difference is RD8 has 38 links, if 2U is new enough with larger diameter idlers, it would have 39 links. If so one would need to remove one link.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
