OS is so right. I love to see a 14A in action and listen to that sweet sound of the D-342 engine! Thanks for sharing. I thought I had already seen all the 14As on You Tube but I missed this one.
I am hoping the model committee will select the 14A series for our next model. If you agree, let them know!

I just posted that up to youtube yesterday.
I can't imagine that Cat running better when it was new. It's been converted to electric start and it just fires right up. If it's a little cold out, just a whiff of starting fluid and she's running.
I'm not sure what that chatter noise was, I noticed it right off. The winch will chatter a bit when it's cold, but this was well warmed up. I've got a new set of clutches to put in when it's time.
Possibly he didn't have the clutch brake tight when he changed directions. If it was moving it would have never even went into gear, just grind.
My father in-law was an instructor on this machine in the military. He's 88 yo and can do twice as good as me in half the amount of time. He runs it over rough ground, drops the blade forward, drags it back, smooth. Me, back forth, back forth, back forth. Hum, I'm not sure its better or worse. Hahaha
This is a machine that truly is run by feel.
edit; I went back and watched the video over and over at the chatter sound, it looks like when he lets the pressure off after raising the blade to me. I'm not sure how it would do that and I don't think I've ever had that noise when it was warm.
