Hi Trevor, you just need the tractor / engine serial number to get parts. The pony motor parts are described in the tractor parts catalog. We probably have the 14A series parts catalog in the Library on this site (need to join up as a member). You can also visit your dealer who may have someone old enough to be able to find the parts on their system. Yes, you can probably make some bearings.
We do indeed have parts manuals for the D8 14A tractor in the Library, which are available for paid up members of ACMOC to view online and screen print individual pages (but not download the whole manual).
Visit the Store page on this site to buy a membership from just $44.

instead of perfection some times we just have to accept practicality
Thanks for the reply Guys! I would have replied sooner but could not login due to the password reset. I found the S/N F25449 stamped on the block by the head and then painted over. Finning thinks this motor is not original but they can't find bearings in the 0.030 undersize for me anyway. Does someone have these bearings available?
I have received the same parts picture from finning and a second company but both pictures show a tapered gear on the end of the crankshaft. My crankshaft does not have this tapered gear. I would add a Picture but I cant figure out how to do that
Trevor, that's not a serial number if it's on the pony - it's a casting number. There is sometimes a relationship between casting number and part number. If you can get a casting number from the crank, someone here may be able to tie it back to a part number. Your dealer is probably right that the pony is not original. "Ideally" the replacement would be a documented update from the original but it's well-known that ponys can often be adapted between the likes of D7s, D8s, and D9s of that era (and other types of equipment running similar engines)
The 14a poney motor block is 3h8025 or 9h6197 and the parts number is near the carburator and the maine bearing on side flywell is 8f3853 standar and 1h2753 =0.30 and rear end 8f3852 standar 1h2754=0.30
Ok. I have tried replying many times but always get "the new message field is required". what am I doing wrong?
I have also found those part numbers but cannot seem to locate any bearings from finning. The block has this number stamped under the carb 9M7710 Is this from a D9 dozer then?
The block 9m7710 is for D8H and could have 2 different crankshaft 4s5352 and 3s5531 and check your crankshaft they use different part number
