Hello. I have a D8 S/N: 14A6941. I do have the service manual for it but the brake section does not talk about the adjusting screws on the front and rear lever assemblies.(turn in till stops and then 6 turns back out)? Same on the front and rear or does one adjustment change how the brake operates in forward or reverse direction?

It does tell you how to set it up with the turn buckles but I would like to know how to do just a quick adjustment with those screws for now if possible as I assume that is what they are for. I have two more days of dirt work and then we can over haul what we need after that properly. Any help is appreciated.

So I did Adjust the rear screw on the rear lever assembly on the right brake and the brake works much better in forward. It still works for reverse but I need to put a lot more pressure on the pedal. Does anyone know if one adjustment screw or the other makes a difference in how the breaking feels in forward or reverse?

check the linkages are free to move, may need lube on the pivots and joints, I had a seized pin on pedal that would return half way only with a touch it would return fully, just enough to be had to press and slightly drag brake

Ok. Yes I did eventually turn the adjustment screw on the rear lever assembly in 3/4 turn and it made a big difference. I am still unsure if it makes a difference adjusting the front or back for different travel directions as it still kind of chatters or slips in reverse but works really well going forward, at least the pedal is not bottoming out now anymore.
