D7E pony removal

Any ideas please- have every thing unhooked and pony/ enguagement clutch, is loose from diesel bell housing, but can't get cone to pull loose from main fly wheel, ? Thanks Tim

Did you remove the bracket bolt under the poney and did you angaged the pinion cluch

Got the bolts under on bracket, not sure how to enguage pinion , Thats were the problem lies, enguagement fork will not move, tried some heafty force on lever with large set of channel locks ,but no go.?

I had sometime with a d9 the same probleme and I pull the compression out on big motor and turne by the fan the motor and the pinion slide in the ring flywell and the poney was loosed but you need to lift the poney 1" or 2 and he should comme out

Had I have known we were not going to start up again I would have parked under cover ! Thanks a bunch

That did the trick,once out and apart , found starter gear teeth lodged in behind pinion shaft- asked last owner if he ever blew out the starter gears, said he did last fall. Thanks again
