Hi everyone, I'm in the process of redoing some wiring and other little things on my D7. Started to take the wires off the manual circut breaker from the starter and realised that it had been bipassed by hooking the wires together. Hooked up a multi tester and tested for a circut and sure enough nothing. Just wondering if anyone knows if it's readily available or not. I couldn't find a amperage rating on it. that's kind of my biggest concern is getting one with the proper amp rating. I think it's a fairly common part and I should be able to get it at my local auto parts store but just wanted some more info before hand.

On another note My glow plugs and glow plug wiring harness came and fit in perfectlty. Two glow plugs were burn out. Two were good yet so I've got two spares for now. Company I got the parts from was called Tornado parts I think. I'd have to check back to make sure though. They have all sorts of parts for my 7 and I assume others as well. They're reasonable too and good to deal with.

Thanks

Ryan

The part number for the breaker is 3H4105 but they don't give the amperage rating.

They are a common electrical part .. Mack use an identical breaker .. and the amperage is usually either on the face of the button, or on the body of the breaker itself.

The circuit breakers I have seen as part of the direct electric start package were manufactured by "klixon" and came in 40a, 50a and 60a versions.

Thanks for the info guys. I did some more looking at it with a magnifying glass in the sun light and I think I managed to make out a 40 on the front of it. Was some numbers and letters on the back too. CDM 40. V6A. and it was made in Attleborg or something like that Mass.

Thanks

Was in at the local ag parts store today and asked if they had any. All they had were the auto reset ones so I took a 40 amp without thinking. I got side tracked talking to the salesman and forgot to tell them it was 24 volt. It's rated at 40 amps 12 volt so 24 volt would only be 20 amps from what I've learend before right?? They'll take the part back I'm pretty sure but I don't know if they'll have a 80 amp circut breaker or not.

We had a D7E but with a starting engine and as I recall it was a 30 amp breaker. The D7F we had as I recall had a 60 (or was it 40) amp breaker. But thats been a while back. The part # for the F is 9S173.I would call CAT with the 7E and the 7F # and have them look on the red button to see what it is.

Talked to Cat today and they have to order. 50 dollars for a 40 amp manual reset breaker. That's a little bit much I think. Gona try and hunt down either a aftermarket one or put in a auto reset 24 volt breaker. Shouldn't hurt nothing I wouldn't think. Seems like the manual reset are a thing of the past anyways. Everyone I show it to says man is that ever old.lol..
