Hello all, I have been through my service manual trying to find how one checks or adjusts their fuel timing. I really want to check it on our 48a we got. The previous owner had the pump rebuilt and im not sure if they set it correctly. The machines exhaust and turbo get extremely hot even at idle. Idk if that how it's supposed to run but I would sleep easier if I knew the timing was set right.

If anyone knows how or even where to look in the service manual I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

And it's a 48a5960 serial

Injection pump timing is fixed by the tang location/mating of the camshaft and auxiliary drive shaft. The only control you have is the setting of the injection valve lifters which is 1.8140 +/-0.004" (using a depth micrometer) when piston is at TDC. The process is described in the service manual.
