What are the advantages/disadvantages of putting the blade mount that far forward? Also, what would that style of blade be called?

Hi 4tcompost, Nice looking D7E 47A. Your 47A3369 was just shy of the introduction of the 180hp 47A at 47A3396. The build date I show is 1964. The hydraulic system is the Caterpillar 172(fender-mounted tank).
boaterri, that is a Caterpillar 7A(Angle blade) that is angled with the left side forward(toe) and the right side back(heel), the blade can also be positioned straight or right side forward and left side back.
Craig
Congratulations on getting it home. I missed the prior thread but where did this Cat come from?
Thank you to all of you for the nice comments & information for it . Iron appraiser, she was about 8 miles away from you in yolo about 15 or so years ago, Bernie Gorman owned it , after Bernie Passed away a buddy of mine bought it, it went all the way to woodland, it was more tractor than he needed, so I ended up with it now, she hasn't traveled too far in the last 15 years lol. Thanks Roy
