Looks like we might have to use the D7E for a bit to disc plow a field. We are trying to size a disc for the purpose. Need to learn gear ratios, travel speeds for the 3sp powershift, drawbar force. etc? Cannot seem to find any of this online.

I've attached the spec sheet data for the D7E-48A PS. Keep in mind for plowing, the Direct Drive version would be better suited than a power shift with a torque converter because the converter will get hot if you run it lugged back all the time. The old "gear up, throttle back" adage doesn't work so well with a converter. You may have to run higher engine speed in a lower gear to keep fan speed up and at a more efficient point for the converter.

Or, you could just get a new D7E and it doesn't have the torque converter overheating problem either 👍

Yeah, the TC was something on my mind and might not be a great idea. I am not sure how much slip they can handle continuously. I know most anything that pulls constantly with a TC has some sort of TC lockup like trucks.

I will just order a new D7E today!!👍 Nothing like an overkill on the job...

Have towed a set of 6 aside [12 blades] 32" discs, discing steep hill country with my powershift D6D, discing uphill, downhill and sideways with it in 75f temps with no problems, but only ever used 1st gear.
Case of using what you,ve got. But yes gear drive is better and alot more fuel efficient
