We took the entire cover off, blew out all the debris from around the brake band, which was full and
made sure all the joints were free and working, and then adjusted the brake with the cover off.
I could get the brake to release with the handle, then put the cover back on, set the clutch, which is really
touchy, and it works fine in the yard, but I haven't taken it out and run it up against anything yet.
After I took that cover off, I could see how the linkage works so the adjustments all made sense.
Thanks for all the input and advice.

Hi, farmerfred.
Good Stuff. I apparently posted my reply to your previous thread while you were posting this thread as this did not show when I first saw your earlier thread.

Now go out and enjoy it.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Yay, now as the brake wears the roller will move so you put it back in time when it does, it will probably stay a long time depending on how much use it gets. About the pressure plate adjustment, as Deas said leave free play or it will get hot and cook grease out of the seals and into the clutch discs, then you have a mess. Doze on

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
