I have a fuel leak at the fuel pump. Just dripping slowly from a small port. I presume an internal seal. On the other side of the
pump is another small port where someone has brazed up the fitting. I have been through all manuals and parts book but can’t
find any info. Anyone able to help?

The pump is gear driven so fuel must not be allowed to get into oil. There are two doughnut/conical shaped packings on the shaft between the drive gear (oil side) and the pumping gears (fuel side). They are kept compressed around the shaft by a spring between them and the resulting space is a drain area so leakage from either side has a way to drain away before it causes problems. The drain port is usually connected to a small tube that carries any drips down to left front corner of the engine though it sounds like yours may be disconnected somehow.

Pictures would help!

The seals are available and the process of replacing them isn’t too demanding.
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
