Hi,
Trying to remove the steering clutch unit as per the manual. All bolts have been removed and a gantry supporting the unit. Unable to get enough side movement to clear flange on final drive. Dozer has been sitting awhile and parts are rusty. Any clues? D7 4T.
Regards Ray

If it's really rusted up and the clutch pack swelled it isn't going to happen.

You really need to try to break the brake drum loose from the flange that holds it in place. On my 14A I used a short flat bar with an 8 pound sledge hammer to move it. You may need to move the tractor forward and back to break it open on all sides.

Yes I think I'm being a bit gentle. I have a gap of about 1/8 inch so will get the pry bar into action. Thanks

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
