Anyone have the cross reference from Caterpillar to WICO?   I have one but it doesn't have the 5M6374 listed in it which has me wondering.

Thanks!

Yes this does but I need the WICO number to order parts, if it even is a WICO?

5M6374 can be a Wico XH2541, XH2541C, XH2733 or XH2733. Odd Fire

Thanks Old Magnet! This is SN 17A13356 so I don't think it's an odd fire but that brings up a question, What was the last year of the odd fire pony motor?

So they went back to Odd Fire vs even fire. Great info and thanks for correcting me. I found this interesting info "The odd fire mg should have two sparkplug terminals together on one side of the cap 90 degrees apart while the even fire pony has them on opposite sides of the cap 180 degrees from each other. " Of course this assumes original magneto is still in place. Looking to make smoke this Friday. I have the magneto rebuilt and throwing a good spark, I have a carb off of my 1959 D7 17A which runs, got the valves free on the newer D7 pony so it should just be timing. Still a bit worried about potential water in the diesel fuel but thinking the filters will trap it.

The even fire pony had the vertical magneto. Also associated with the shared pony/main engine lube system which also went away.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
