I've been on the fence for a year now , considering selling my
what I'm sure is a D7 4T1 , not sure what year it is , hoping
somebody could help me figure out what its worth the way it
sits at present ... , so the bad , the right side track clutch will
not disengage, both clutches were working fine then the next
pull on the right clutch , no resistance what so ever its like
something came loose in the "linkage " , haven't looked into
it , the water pump needs new packing , I have the front CCU
off and apart ,ready to be rebuilt I have all new bearings / seals
/ complete clutch pack / need the cable ,75 feet I think .
The good , only a few hours on the pony , had it rebuilt in a
trusted machine shop I provided all the parts and specs. it
didn't need to be bored so used the same pistons ,new clutch
disc , new cap / rotor / points / condenser on the mag. also
had the head and deck surfaced . Had both brake bands relined
when I first purchased it ,so not to many hours on those , She is
a strong runner I realize its popping in the video I let it idle
to long when I filmed it . put it to work and she cleans up and
runs good , Also have the hood and right side engine guard ,
sorry for the low quality video but thats the best I could get it
it to post . Feel free to ask any questions about this machine
I'm sure I need to post more info about it But cant think of any
more at the moment Thanks for looking , Kris

No body really likes giving values on things like this because there is so many variables on these old Cats arent to collectible the number thing that makes them worth any decent money is tracks and the other walking gear that goes with it

Everything else isnt to bad compared to tracks and then the money really starts flowing so a good set of walking gear equals a lot higher value
After looking at the video as it is its not worth a lot of money my advice is put it back together get air cleaner on the pilot motor clean it all up a bit but to get the best mony for it it needs to be complete and all working thats my 20 cents worth (and Im not having a go just giving advice)
Measure the tracks to show the wear measure the rollers and sprockets as well if it all is in good nic its worth a lot more even as it stands at the moment

Hello Kris, is the Cat in Colfax? My 7M did the same thing on the steering, haven't taken it apart yet. I'm headed up to Fairfeild today, I might have time to stop on my way home.

Hi Bruce , I appreciate the offer , my 7 is on the coast
and haven't figured out how to move it , so I'm considering
selling , although I really don't want to , thanks again, Kris
