Here is an old girl that needs a little tlc. It has sat for quite a few years but hopefully we will have her going under her own power this summer. Main turns over but the pony is stuck. It's had more than it's share of hard times and little maintenance but I guess it's not the first. The undercarriage doesn't look to bad other than sprockets and missing shields. The blade is getting a little thin to.

Nice ole 3T, I am really interested as to what the attachment is, the steel frame with the sheave blocks, on the back end near the LeTourneau R7 PCU ?

I've never seen one of these, looks like something that you can use the spare reel on the R7 for, maybe yarding logs or something ? Though these PCU's have high line speeds, unlike a regular winch, I've often wondered if they would work like that under the right conditions.

Ifonly, you should have been there when I rode it off the lowboy. The machine has not run in about 20 years. No photos of the disk that came with it? That was a bigger job unloading it than the D-7. Once the 7 started rolling it was ride it down until it stopped. We used a Farmall M and a skid steer to help get it going off the trailer. The steering clutches and brakes need work as it will not release the clutchs and there is no brakes.

Sorry, I do see the disc in the backround of one of the the photos. Maybe you maight want to come out when we have a work day on April 10th to get the other machines oiled up and ready for spring and June. We might even get the 7 moved if it is dry enough. It can not stay there after it drys up. So if you like stop by on the 10 and lend a hand if you can. We might even have a drag line show up then or maybe two. Tell Pete he can come down and supervise as we will be working on his D-8 also.

Here is a little history on this machine. It was owned by a company out of Madison WI and was bought by a gentleman and moved to Hatfield WI. It was used there until a flood hit and washed it down a hill into or near a gravel pit that it ended up in. Where it has sat for about 20 years. The owner had it moved to our show grounds a few weeks ago. We also have a 2U D8 that he owns that is restored. Both these machines came from the same company in Madison before the current owner bought them. The machine has a mounted disk that was taken off to move it. The disk hooks to the frame on the rear. You can see it in the one photo setting a ways behind the machine. He also has a pan for it.

The scraper is a Letourneau Model LP, we have one and pull it with our 1H D8 but a 3T will chug right a long!😄

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
