I am looking for a cross reference starter that will work on pony engine. I can use the one I have but would be so much more convenient if it had a stud instead of a button. Thank you John

I bet you could pretty easily replace that button with a stud.
On the other hand, if you could find or make the parts to put it back to what it was, it is nice to have it so it engages both the starter motor and drive gear with the lever.

A Delco 1107823 is the 12V version but it still is a push button unit.
You'd have to build a custom version to do the stud mount.
I've found that the China versions of the push button starter switch just flat don't work.
Look for and old Filko switch unit, they are OK.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
