Was replacing the seal on the track adjuster, Got it took apart no problem but during reassembly the cylinder will not go back into the chamber but about 1 1/2 inches. Pulled it back and notice that the cylinder is hitting a round object in the center of the chamber which is holding it out. This round piece running down the center of the chamber will not move to let my cylinder go all the way back in. There is a bolt on the opposite end of the track adjuster I tried to adjust this with the thought it would move the inner piece back to allow room for the cylinder . The bolt did back out about 3/8 inch and then went slack but it still is connected to this inner piece because I can turn the bolt and see the inner piece move. Hope this isn't too confusing any help or thoughts are appreciated!

Seems you have a broken center bolt or it's come out of it's pilot socket.

Forgot to mention that round thing you mentioned actually has locating ears on it that you may have got out of index if you turned it.

Is this something I can fix - will I need to pull it off the dozer and take it somewhere?

If the center bolt is just out of index you should be able to get it back in position in place. If the center bolt is broken you have a much bigger problem as that's what holds the spring in tension when you go to remove the assembly. Working with that problem can be dangerous unless you know what to do so I'd recommend a pro.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
