Hi i'm looking for some info on a mag for a 17a d7. The mag is a wico cat # 6m4071. Need to know what this model this mag is. also if anyone has a parts book and could give me the cat # for the rotor that would be great.also which cylinder on the pony engine is #1? I dont know what the serial # for the tractor is but it is a 1960 with a 4cyl turbocharged engine. thanks for the help Steve.

Howdy

Cylinder number one is cylinder closest to the front of the tractor.

My turbo 17A parts book dosent show a 6m4071 magneto used so i cant give you a number for the rotor sorry. I suggest you double check the number, if number is correct its more than likely that the mag has been changed at some stage.

Regards
Billy

I agree, 6M4071 is not a good number.
The 5M4071 (wico # XH-2450CS) is shown in the 17A1-11878 parts book only as a field installation option.....it's a bit of an odd ball with a 5M8036 rotor that doesn't match any of the other 17A applications.

Gemdozer,
What does the 7h6866 number apply to???

OK, found it...it's the number for an American Bosche replacement for the 5M4071, MJK 4/2 360 D411
