A freind of mine has a D7 17a with a straight blade. He showed me the hyd. filter today when he was changing hyd.oil. It has some brass filings on the filter. I told him it looks like the pump is going out. Is there a source where he can get a reman or a good pump to exchange? Or are we better off to take it apart and and get parts to do it our self if parts are available? What are the parts source besides Cat?
Sorry for the million Questions!!

Thanks!!

I show that to be a Cat #46 pump. serial number 48C1-up @ 100 gpm
Pump group # 4H3689

It is a Vickers rotary vane type pump.

Ask to speak to the owner as the gals on the order desk probably won't know the old stuff.
I have bought #44 cartridges exchange, don't know if they do the #46 or not.
Service & product has been great once you talk to the right person.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
