I got my hands on an aftermarket dust cup. It needs the O-Ring, unlike my 3D printed version. My guess is that they place the metal ring in the mold before they inject the plastic. Anybody know the generic size of the o-ring?

Hi Top,

5B3323 is a black O ring (3" id x .188" section) that seals the jar to the pre-cleaner.

Cheers,

Eddie B.

It seems to run better after cleaning all that gunk out of the precleaner and downtube. Who would have thought that the engine needs to breath well. I am amazed at how much air the precleaner sucks up. It is like a big shop vac. Thanks guys for all the help.

Much of the heavy equipment the State of California DOT used, had air filter restriction gauges fitted. Cleaning the dry element air cleaners was not an approved practice, it does not take much to rupture and thus allow the dirt to enter the engine. Snow is another issue, and can really cause problems blocking any air induction system. Loss of air flow is really noticed especially at higher elevations. -- cts

I have seen people use firecrackers to clean paper filters. Oil bath cleaning is just an unpleasant chore. LOL

Judging from the amount of gunk in the oil bath when I first cleaned it, the previous owner(s) didn't like that chore.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
