Has anyone out there replaced or modified the aircleaner setup on a 17A with the turbo to a more practical twin element unit?
The original setup only runs a primary element only and is not very user friendly to service.
My thoughts of adapting an aircleaner assembly from say a 140g/h grader or maybe a D6C to be friendly to the available space behind the firewall.
I would be interested to see someone else's modification if there is one out there.

My uncle changed his 17A. I’m actually going to see him today so I’ll ask what. I’ll take a picture if it’s not pouring rain.

17A farmer.....did you mount the aircleaner in behind the firewall where the old one was? Have you got any pics? Thanks.

Yes Bruce please do, I would be interested in what was used and how it was fitted.

Nice looking unit there JM.

Would you have any close up pics of the plumbing and mounting from the air cleaner to the inlet of the turbo?

What was the air cleaner assembly originally off?

Cheers djcat.

Here you go. Uncle thought it was from a D6C. He welded up the pipes from pre bent elbows.

Here is the only other remotely close picture with the air cleaner. A bracket was fabricated, which drops down at an angle; piping was fabricated as well. I don’t take credit for any of this, as it was purchased with some obvious and not so obvious modifications. The tractor is an hour from me, next chance I get I can take some close up photos.

Thanks Bruce for the pics.

That's a nice set up there JM. Some more pics would be very good if can get them.
From what I can see from all the pics so far is there appears to be no decompression lever fitted . Does the air cleaner box interfere with the decom lever? ( maybe it's there and I just can"t see it.)
I am doing an out of chassis rebuild atm and would like to sort a decent air cleaner system for the machine when it goes back together.
