Greetings, 2nd question on slightly different thread content...

If a person were in the market for a Cat D6H, would they be missing out on important upgrades that are offered in the D6R model?

I don't really need the additional weight for my purposes, and having a motor slightly dialed back in hp could save on fuel. 150hp to 170hp is ideal for me.

That said, are there improvements in the D6R that would make the D6H a poor choice in the long run due to better available performance, longevity, maintenance, comfort, maneuverability and general operation?

Please advise, thanks sincerely for your expertise!

I own a 1990 D6H and I love it. It has the diff steer which Is a plus. Early models do not. Only thing I wish I had was an xl undercarriage. D6Rs are nice too because of the parking brake location and trans gear selection is a push button

There are huge variation in consists in D6H/R/T, so depending on what you want to do with the tractor. Clutch steer, Diff steer, 6 or 7 or 8 roller track frames, standard gauge, wide gauge etc as well as XL, XR, XW. horsepower from 160 to something like 128. Straight blades, Semi U blades, AT blades, VPAT blades. Need I go on, you need to do the homework.
