I have a problem that I need you professionals to help me with. The transmission servicing door mechanism is jammed. I cannot get the latching mechanism to release the door. I removed a access panel on top of the structure above the door but I cannot get the mechanism to release. I noticed a spring and a broken piece of metal inside.
I removed the latching handle on the outside, however the latching mechanism will not release.
Should I remove the hinge pin?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Kenny

Do you have an access panel on top(6 bolts or so), next to your right arm rest. If so, you can reach through and open latch from inside.

I do, after removing that’s when I saw a broken piece with a spring on it, not sure how to make the latching mechanism release though. Any ideas?
Thanks

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
