Hey guys, about a year ago my dad and I went half in on a 1964 d6c with the d333 turbocharged engine.

Machine ran fine, changed fuel filters, started and ran fine bled the lines of air. A couple minutes. Later she sputtered out.

Now when I bleed the air from the lines and try to start it immediately gets air in again, like high air pressure.

Could a injector nozzle be bad causing compression to enter the fuel system? Tried every way known to man to get the air out but as soon as it turns over there is air again. I have a small fuel pump temporarily plumbed at the tank. I can turn it on and bleed the system, but when she turns over there is instant high pressure air again.

Starts fine on spray, won't stay running.

Any ideas? Serial # 76a1851

Take the fuel lines off at the injectors, put oil in the top of the injectors so it covers the hole in the adapter, get someone to spin the engine while you watch, with safety glasses on, you will soon see which one is blowing back. You probably got a bit of debris past the filter when changing it, a good reason not to fill the filter housing from a can before fitting the filter.

That makes sense, it was full of fine Mississippi red clay dust mud.must have been forever since ce it was changed.

I got a brand new set of injector nozzles from cat, just want to see if I'm on the right track.

The nozzles have a fine screen in them as last line of defense but the finest of material might still get through.
