Hi all thought I’d share some pics of my dozer . D6c 56j Australian built. No turbo. I’ve just given it a pretty complete inframe, and redid the brakes as it bounced the brake band on one side. It was parked 10 years ago with the brake problem and a broken valve. Went underwater in a flood about 4 years ago.

Currently down with a blown track tensioner seal and it’s putting oil in coolant so about to pull and check the heat exchangers.

Far as your water in oil don’t forget the water pump is gear drive and can get in thru there also usually before cooler springs a leak

The 56J series tractors were 125hp naturally aspirated 3306, the next series the 69J started at 125hp and finished up at 140hp. The 56J replaced the 73A series.

its actually a d333c, early 56j #274. Its a pain as i have a service manual for a d6c which includes 56j, but covers specifics of 3306s and the new sleeve fuel systems.

Hopefully its just a faulty cooler. Easy to diagnose and fix.

Easy but potentially expensive, id rather spend a couple hundred dollars on a cooler then spend days mucking around to find a bad o ring or something!

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
