Hello,

The connector that goes to the glow plug rail on our D6C 10K was bad so I purchased a new connector, insulator boot and washer but found that still doesn't fit right, by the time the boot is slid over the rail the female connector in the boot is smashed sideways.

I suspect that the connector on the glow plug rail is broken, can anyone confirm that? It looks to me that the male fitting on the rail should be sticking out farther and there should be another 1/4" of plastic barrel surrounding it as well? The parts manual doesn't show this area in detail.

If it is broken, can I just splice in to the wire that feeds the first glow plug instead and bypass the broken connector?

Thanks,

Maybe trim or shorten the black boot so that you can see the two fittings start connecting properly, yes you can just connect wires together, none of my looms where very flash, some were burnt and had no insulation so cut out sections of conduit etc to get them to work.

Great, thanks! Part of this ones issue is the male connector on the rail is only sticking out about an 1/8" so I can't get the female to make good contact even without the boot. Looks to either have been pushed inward or broken off in the past. I'll just T into the glow plug wire and call it good then.
