D6 9U steering brake band removal?

Could someone provide me with the overview of how the bands are removed so they can be reshoed. I have the maintainance manual but it leaves off at how to adjust. If someone has done this or has the repair manual and could give me the steps I would appreciate it.

here are scans from my D6 SRB, Form No 7861-A, date 1-44.
The method is the same for later U machines.
