Where can I get the correct parts to rebuild the pony motor water pump? Found an old post with the part numbers, but I’m not sure the part numbers are transferring correctly.

Hi, Sthorpe.

The pony motor doesn't have a water pump. It relies on the diesel engine water pump circulating the water to cool it - which is why it is important to get the diesel turning over ASAP after starting the pony.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

The seal assembly 4F0593 includes the seal 5F4339 and washer 5F4338, google it, available from several sources, try Cat for the gasket and maybe the seal assembly as well, if not, cut your own gasket.

Sorry Deas you have tripped up there, the D6 pilot motor does have a water pump. D2 D4 don't have a waterpump. You are allowed to be mistaken at least once in every ten years so don't feel bad cause you ain't. cheers WF

WF: I casually mentioned how the D2/D4 don't have a waterpump, but rely on the main for circulation, but apparently he didn't read my post or wish to believe me. Hahahaha.

No further comment about your friend. LOL. Its all good. JM

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
