I'm going to remove and repair the seat tank before winter sets in. The top of the tank where the seat sits is heavily rusted and pitted so I am going to drain the tank, remove and flush it, then cut out rusty part of the top.

Before I get started does anyone know off hand how thick the material is? I am guessing it's close to 1/8".

Thanks!

Thnk you! I checked this site and yours but haven't found any references to metal thickness. I jest need to cut a square out on either side of the central tube. I'm sure the tank needs to be cleaned anyhow.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
