Hi guys one of the D6 9U I’m picking up has a modified transmission , wonder what’s different about it

That's not necessarily modified. Later s/n units started identifying the transmission arrangement with a separate tag.

The parts book has the different transmissions groups listed in the back. The speed in each gear is list.
