In the middle of freshening up the back end of our 8U.  New seals and new cross shaft bearings.  Rolling torque and backlash is all set to spec.  We set the flanges onto the cross shaft by hand (no hydraulic press yet) and it looks like the flanges are already sitting flush with end of the cross shaft on both sides, which means they are already out of spec and I will have to find new ones.  Same story with the pinion flanges.  I couldn't find the acceptable clearance spec in the book for either.  Does anyone have that info off hand?
They came apart way too easy and now its obvious why.....
I was told the splines on the shafts aren't usually the culprit unless you see ridges on them which there are none visible......

Thanks!

The steering clutch inner drum should 0.094 to 0.156" proud of the shaft shoulder when pressed to
15-20 ton.
Same fit for the bevel gear flange when pressed to 20-25 ton.
Same fit on the final drive pinion flanges when pressed to 25-30 ton.
