I have a D5 95J powershift with no deacelerator. How should I go from forward to reverse? I have a D5 a few years newer and it has the deacelerator.

Hi, catsrbest.

Unless you want to go to the trouble of fitting a decelerator, the next best approach would be either to put the control lever in neutral, come to a complete stop and then select the next gear or cut the engine revs with the hand throttle, make your change and throttle up again. I used to do the latter with the Cat 941, 955 and 977 track loaders which had the throttle control right next to the powershift control - made it easy.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
