I have a D5 94J that I need to rebuild brakes on. Can the brake bands be taken out without removing inner parts and do the bands (that are made up 3 pieces bolted together), need to be separated to get them out. My service manual doesn't show removal except for lifting out complete with inner drum to change clutches.
Any help would be appreciated.

Usual procedure is to break down into three sections and roll them out. Don't forget to back off the support screw underneath the tractor.

Thanks, I was hoping that it could be accomplished that way.It probably will be fun to get everything cleaned up good with the pieces of the lining that peeled loose and are laying at the bottom of housing, but should be able to get it done.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
