Hi,
I have just been and measured the various bits and bobs on my D4d.
Rail height averaged out at 90mm both sides, this was taking the height of 5 links aside and averaging.
Top roller 27mm depth of tread one side and the other (looks worn) 19mm depth
Front Idler depth both sides the same at 19mm
Measurement between the 4 pins (top of track, tensioned) is 696mm
Grouser height 37mm.
The OD of the bushes I have not measured yet as need to get some calipers but they have not been turned and are fairly worn to the touch.
Same with the bottom rollers although pin-boss measurement is 13mm.

Thoughts from an expert please?? Have an idea to get the top rollers re-furbished, pin and bushes redone and sprockets welded on both sides, am not sure about front idlers as cannot find any info yet.
Any help most welcome.
regards Chris

4-pin measurement indicates 87% worn
Grousers 39% worn
Idlers 50% worn
Need diameters to get roller and bushing readings (caliper measure).
Need track link number (usually cast into link) to assess.

MrNoo, I do have a couple of good track chains and some good sprockets that might be some use, but a bit more detail would help like track plate bolt Dia' bolt pat or track link No' and amount of links (track plate count up) I am not far from you at J1 M50, on the rollers thing worn out is scrap with new replacements the way to go.

Right, 36 links/pads each side, part number 5K9458H on links closest to track pads
Lower roller diameters
Left starting at front of machine
198mm, 225mm, 210mm, 200mm, 200mm
Right side
190mm, 200mm, 197mm, 200mm, 201mm
16" pads with what 1/2" bolts

Bushes measured at 30 degrees to track chain facing forward and rearward are as follows
46.86mm 47.69mm
46.87mm 48.50mm
46.02mm 47.15mm

And measured at 90 degrees to track chain, i.e. vertically down from tack pad is 46.09mm

Rail height = 40% worn
Track rollers @ 200mm = 25% worn
Bushings @ 48mm = 70-90% worn depending on 0.12 or 0.19 in. depth of hardening.
5K9457-58 uses 9/16" bolting
Didn't see a diameter for carrier rollers.

Sorry forgot to put them up
Carriers are 115mm one side
135mm on the other.

Many thanks for your help Old Magnet. So I would guess the best course of action would be to get the chains re pinned/rebushed and weld on a pair of sprockets and possibly a pair of carrier rollers. I guess as long as the bearings are ok on the bottom rollers, leave them as they are, maybe move them around to even up the wear on them? Front idlers at 50% should be ok or are they worth getting refurbed.
regards Chris

If you can weld it is common to build up rollers and idlers with weld

The track plate bolt size is not un-common to find in the U.K. that some one has had a 5/8" drill out and been busy making something out of what they have, I see it being done often on D4 size tractors, as for fitting new pin and bush groups in a D4 sized chain its not realy worth the trouble, as its 2/3rds the cost of new for something already half worn out, so if a track change job is on the list, its ether fit new groups or good used so old runs with old, but I always measure the plate bolt size as its possible to get in a drama with the 9/16 = 5/8 bolt thing, before things get to focused on track wear it might be worth inspecting the tractor front to back after the guards are removed and the steam cleaner has been in action, a bar poked in a few spots and oil levels checked plus oil leaks traced.
