Hello all

Has anybody installed any electric shutoff solenoid to this D4D engine, either on the linkage or directly on the governor? The engine is being used to power a irrigation water pump

If so do you have a list of parts and procedure.

Thanks,
Peter

Hi Team,
OM has given you the shutoff solenoid, but, if I recall correctly you will need the Industrial engine shutoff adaptor housing to fit it up to your existing tractor governor housing.
Maybe OM has this in his Parts Book or can see if it is needed as I do not have any Industrial engine Parts Book's.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

There is no call out for an adaptor, appears to mount directly to the governor.

I'll post the governor diagrams a little later.

With Eddie's tip off I suspect it takes a different governor group to mount the solenoid.

The irrigation pumps with mechanical fuel shut off in the Santa Clara and Salinas Valleys were usually equipped with Murphy switches. I've posted a link below to an irrigation supply company selling these controls. There should be plenty of parts houses selling the same thing in Oz. If you have trouble finding the CAT parts, this may help.

There are two types of solenoid, one powers to run the other powers to shut down. They mount on opposite sides of the housing. Be sure to get the right one, power to run has a pullin and hold in winding and holds in at lower amps, power to shutdown uses high amps and will burn out if used wrong.
