Here you go, this is a later improvement. This improvement became effective with SN 6W14542, 7W66ll, 8W518 and 9W5641. Not having your sn it would be hard to say which one you have. But the No 44 Hydraulic controls can be reworked to include the steel washer and snap ring if need be, by deepening the seal counterbore in the case to 21/32” as shown.

look at this thread http://www.acmoc.org/bb/showthread.php?13444-7U-D4-Hydraulic-pump-removal/page2&highlight=44+control+shaft+seal

I think everyone is just stacking 2 seals in there these days instead of the original design.
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

Hi lj98,

I recently did that seal on my 7U...here's where I got all the info.....http://www.acmoc.org/bb/showthread.php?7627-No-44-Hydraulic-seal-leaking&highlight=no+44+seal

If you just want to see what the seal looks like, search ebay for ...oil seal 11223...plenty of pictures.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
