I have an old D4, serial number 7u17559, I’m wondering what year this machine was made. Also I’m wondering how similar a d4 with the serial number 7U19328 would be to mine for swapping parts.
Thank you

So would a guy be safe assuming that engine and track frame parts would be interchangeable on the two Cats?

yes---very safe to assume that--make sure you check the serial # plates on the engines as many times engines have been changed
