D4 Traxcavator main lift cylinder hoses

Thanks Gary. I see they have the 100R2 which has a 12" radius spec, and 100R16 which has a 5" radius spec. I know from fitting the 100R2 to my D2 it was a bit of a battle to get the pipes to bend to where I wanted them. The pressure rating on the 100R16 is the same so any reason why I wouldn't want to go with the more flexible 100R16? The OD is 070 less - I wonder if that's beyond the clamping ability of those clamps?

Hydraulic equipment often needs slim hose for tight routine and SAE 100R16 compact hose is the answer. Reinforced by two braids of high-tensile steel wire, it shares similar specifications of SAE 100R2 except tighter bending radius.

Would anyone happen to know if the 16 at 070 smaller OD will still work with the OEM hose clamps?

hose and clamps have to be matched.
however adapters are available to change code61 to jic or similar im sure you could get field fit fittings in jic etc for 100r16 hose most places dont like the bolt clamp fittings even when you tell them its only 1200 psi the reason is clamp failure if a bolt comes loose much harder for the twist on fittings to fail that way. just remember hydraulics hose are measured in dash size a dash is a 1/16th of a inch.

you can get more flexible hose but its not for field fit fittings and is instead crimp on to go crimp on i would look at adapters to change to jic or similar from the code 61 so it is cheaper as jic is the more common type today.

you can also get 100r1 hose and use adapters with feild fit jic fittings to get what you need howwever it does only have a WP of 1250 psi.
sae100r17 has a half bend radius of 100r2 for a WP of 3000psi but is non skive crimp type fittings

i found it was easier to handle if the hose was warm so lay it in the sun for a bit to warm up.

Ok, so my question was will the 100R16 work with the existing OEM clamps?

All my original clamps have a .030 - .050 gap at the matting faces on the 933. If concerned could machine .035 from each face of crimp fitting - could then clamp in lath and bore round . Most likely as is , it would pull the surfaces tight to each other and be fine. 3 of the 4 blade lift cylinder hose on my D2 were replaced with smaller hoses than the one original hose 25 years ago no leak yet.
