I have a 1949 D4 and it has a pony motor which runs but I have problems starting it because the carburetor is problematic. I would like to convert it to a starter,I would like to know what I need to make this conversion work. I know I need a template for the hole.I think the starter gear needs to be replaced to a reverse gear? where can I get instructions about this? Thanks

It's easier and cheaper to clean and repair the carb, fuel lines and clean and coat the gas tank, it will run likes it's supposed to.
