D4 Pony Motor to Electric Start conversion

what is the s/n of your D47U

If the starter boss has a coverplate on it and already has the hole your good to go, otherwise you need to drill.

I had an old RD6 and a guy near here (in Missouri) fixed me up with a conversion. I had to drill and tap a couple of holes. I talked with him the other day and he said he had a new conversion that used only existing holes...I don't know about on a D4. Here's a link to his site. He can tell you. The conversions from this B&C company must what I have been hearing about.As last summer was told of a 4R D6 that had been converted with the starter up were the pony had sat.Then I was told of 7U D4's that were the same way.So I think that is what the second and last picture are, the starter and the intermediate gear to connect the ring gear bolted on the deck were the pony sat. Thank for sharing.

These starter options have been around for some time.
Before purchasing it would be a good idea to do some homework on how the clutch is to perform (where used) and how much carving of the dash for starter motor protrusion is required.....also the home for the required batteries.
